Announcement on Offline Services with Limitations

Samil Church resumes limited offline services as of October 12, 2020. Online services will be streamed along with the offline services for a while that please bear with the preventive measures for entrance and uses of the church buildings and halls. We truly appreciate your cooperation with the Samil Church staff for safety and faith of all the church members and families.

[Sunday Services both Online and Offline]

1. Service Times and Congregations

- Offline services along with live streaming will be at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm (noon), 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm for cleaning and disinfection while online services are offered in between. Please see the exact service times and types for details and note that the offline services will be live streamed as before. Online services only are in parentheses below.

※ Service times for young adults will be designated taking turns.

 ※ Entrance is available an hour before each service time; please evacuate as soon as each service ends in order to proceed with the cleaning and disinfection. The parking lot at the basements of Samil Church B Building will be closed when the service at 6:00 pm ends and the congregation is dismissed.

※ The parking lot at Sookmyung Women’s University is available on Sundays while the shuttle buses between the university and Samil Church do not run. The parking coupons you have bought can be refunded at the information booth at B Building first floor.

※ This guideline is subject to change depending on the government disinfection measures and social circumstances.

 

2. Congregation Seating Policy

The seats are available with one meter apart between each seat. They are marked on the seats for their availabilities.

- Congregation halls will be opened according to the demand in the order of the hall on the 2^nd floor, the balcony seats on 3^rd floor, Minor Service Hall on 1^st floor, Gymnasium Hall on 5^th floor, and Room #405 on 4^th floor consecutively.

※ The seating is subject to change depending on the circumstances.

 

 3. Sunday School, Choirs, and Newcomers Departments

- Please refer to the announcements of each division of the Sunday School Departments for its offline Sunday school classes. Sunday School Classes from the 1^st grade and above will be available both offline and online as of October 25, 2020.

- Choir practices or choir singing during the services are replaced with solo or ensemble performances for a while in order to secure the safety of the choir members.

- Registration and orientation for newcomers is available at 10:20 am, 1:20 pm, and 4:20pm at the Newcomers’ Room on the 5^th floor in Bethany (B) Building. The education for newcomers used to be offered in C Building (from the 2^nd session to 5^th); however, it will proceed at Room # 503 in B Building from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Sundays for a while.

 

[Services during Weekdays]

1. Early morning service is available only once a day at 6:00 am. The congregation is to enter from 5:30 am and leave by 7:30 am.

2. Wednesday services are available as before at 11:00 am (1^st service) and 7:30 pm (2^nd service) on Wednesdays. The entrance and evacuation times for each are from 10:20 am to 12:20 pm for the 1^st service and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm for the 2^nd.

3. Friday evening services are from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, but the lodging rooms are not available after service. The congregation is to enter from 8:00 pm and evacuate at 11:00 pm.

4. Services on weekdays will be streamed live as well.

※ The entrance doors and parking lot will be closed when service ends during the weekdays. 

 

[Notes on Offline Service Attendance]

1. Families with young children, the weak, and the elderly are recommended to worship online.

2. If you have fever or respiratory symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, and shortness of breath, please do not enter the church buildings for your safety.

3. When you enter the church doors, please apply hand sanitizer and keep your mask on during the service at all times.

4. All the visitors will have their temperatures checked along the queue and fill out the visitors’ access roster at the entrance screening.

- Registered church members are screened through the Online Church Members Application QR code.

※ Please get the application ready for easy flow at the entrance. You can download the application on your cell phones and ask your leaders for further information.

- Temporary visitors are allowed to enter after the filling out the visitors’ roster and ID card checks.

5. Please follow the ushers’ guide for seating as you will be able to enter the worship hall on a first-come, first-served basis.

- When you park your cars at the B Building parking lot on the basements, please use the #3 stairs and elevator only up to the entrance on the 1^st floor. You are not to move directly to the worship halls.

 - Please have your temperature checked and fill out the roster on the 1^st floor with the help of the ushers. Then use the stairs #1 / elevators #1 & 2 and the stairs #4 / elevator #4 to the worship halls.

6. Please evacuate immediately after service for cleaning and disinfection procedure.

7. Church building entrance and facility uses will be limited except for the purpose of service
